Creating meaningful and dynamic messaging through authenticity, empathy, and a little audacity…
About Jana
Now…
I'm certainly one of those people who live multiple lives in a short time on this planet, and that's because I love to explore, learn, and connect. The one constant in my career path is that it has always involved sharing the stories of the people around me. Currently, I'm an anchor on QC Life on WBTV in Charlotte and the host of the Telly award-winning podcast, Coffee & Conversations.
I developed my knack for storytelling because, frankly, I'm really good at bragging on people for what they're good at and what they're doing. It can be challenging to see everything we bring to the table when we're so close to our own story. As a host and emcee - empathy and energy are what I always lead with with allows me to match the vibe in any space.
Being multi-passionate has allowed me to be part of a full spectrum of conversations, from mental health advocacy to investment strategies to crafting your own cake at home. I know that everyone's passion has a purpose, and their story deserves sharing. My current life is split between stage as an emcee and speaker, screen with lifestyle TV, and sound, sharing stories through Coffee & Conversations.
Then…
Before there was a studio, there was a court. I'm a proud NC State alumna with two bachelor's degrees (GO PACK). After college, I packed a bag for France to play professional volleyball, five seasons with the FFVB in Albi, Toulouse, Paris, and Bordeaux, following my senior semester in Valencia, Spain that reminded me why I fell in love with the game in the first place.
In Bordeaux, I started filming iPhone videos about my teammates hoping to add some hype to our new stadium and increase attendance. No stats, just conversation about who they were. I wanted fans to know the women on the court as more than athletes. What I didn't know was that those videos were the start of my next chapter: pro volleyball player to pro storyteller.
After “retirement” I went back to the US to try and “get into” the media industry. I worked as a brand ambassador, model, grip, producer, and spokesperson - anything I could get my hands on. This diversity helped me build real experience in emceeing, hosting, video production, and brand storytelling along the way.
My first full time role (AKA big girl job) was as a spokesperson. I worked specifically in the furniture industry with UNITERS which allowed me to see the interworking of a true international company with rigorous brand standards. I created content, did interviews, hosted how-to videos, and got to cut my teeth in a very niche space.
From there I wanted to explore more in the video production world and I became the host for Trending Today and Living Local, I then founded Posh Theory Media, a concierge media company I launched in 2020, because I found every business has a story, and most just need someone to help share it.
Most people go from news to private production, but I did that in reverse. In 2022 I moved from South Florida to Northeast Florida to enter “the news industry” and become the anchor and executive producer of River City Live on News4JAX. In January of 2025, I traded the palm trees for palmettos and moved to Charlotte, NC to join the team of QC Life.
